Trial & cancellation
- New paid checkouts include a 7-day trial. Stripe collects a payment method up front; you are not charged until the trial ends if you stay subscribed.
- Cancel on web in Account → Manage billing (Stripe Customer Portal), or on mobile via Account → Manage billing (App Store / Play subscriptions). During a trial, access typically ends when the trial ends. After you are charged, access continues through the end of the paid period (store rules may vary).
- If you delete your BoatCast account, any open Stripe Pro subscription is set to cancel at period end. App Store / Play subscriptions should also be canceled in the store account settings (or via Manage billing) so billing stops with the platform.
- Refunds: BoatCast does not offer automatic prorated refunds for unused days. If a charge looks wrong, email boatcastapp@gmail.com and we will review it. Chargebacks and Stripe/app-store rules still apply.

- Do I need an account?
- Prefer signing in first with Apple, Google, or email (that creates or opens your BoatCast account), then subscribe: Stripe on the website, App Store on iPhone, Google Play on Android. Guest Stripe Checkout still works — the email you enter becomes your account, then you set a password. On iOS and Android you can also subscribe with In-App Purchase without an account, then sign in later to sync Pro and favorites. Hide My Email still uses Sign in with Apple on every device. Signing out and registering a new email creates a different account.
- How does sign-in sync work?
- Sign in with Apple, Google, or email — the same three buttons on iPhone, Android, and the website. Any of them creates your BoatCast account if you are new. Use the same button on every device to sync Pro, favorites, and monitoring. Hide My Email never requires typing the private relay address. Signing out and registering a new email creates a different account and will not carry those favorites or monitoring.
- Who processes payment?
- Web: Stripe Checkout. iOS/Android apps: Apple App Store and Google Play Billing (via RevenueCat). BoatCast stores subscription status on your account; card numbers stay with Stripe or the app stores.
- What if billing is not configured (dev/demo)?
- Signed-in web “Go Pro” may enable demo Pro without a real charge when Stripe keys are missing. Production web uses Stripe; store builds use App Store / Play subscriptions.
